Class Independence Requirements
This is a ‘drop and go’ class, and as such:
-Children must be confident attending without a parent or guardian
-Children must be able to use the toilet independently, in accordance with our child protection policies
-Strictly no exceptions can be made regarding adult attendance. This helps ensure consistency and emotional safety for all students. At JK Ballet, we care for your child as if they were our own and work hard to ensure they feel secure, supported, and seen.
Uniform Information
From Grade 1 Foundation onwards, there is a change of uniform to a separate leotard and skirt, in line with the updated A.B.D. guidelines.
The updated A.B.D. uniform is required after your child’s trial class onwards and can be purchased from our in-house shop:
Our staff are happy to assist you with sizing and selecting the correct items.
Please note: From Grade 5 onwards, there is a change to a completely different uniform colour to reflect the transition into senior-level training.
Examinations & Learning Expectations
All dancers from Grade 1 upwards will receive a theory sheet at the beginning of each term to support their understanding of classical ballet terminology and technique.
Examinations are not automatic or group-based
A child will only be entered when they are individually ready — emotionally, physically, and technically. A high standard of both practical and theoretical work is required for examination consideration
